Weatherstock® Submission Guidelines   Updated November 2006   1: Submitting Photographs   2: Submitting Footage Clips Photography Submissions: Submission News Update: Weatherstock® is currently offering two options for those who wish to submit photographs. 1: Commissions: We will occasionally offer commissions on sales for very rare or unique pictures. 2: Buy-outs: This is our general way of accepting pictures for our files. Since the weather and storm photography markets have all but collapsed due to the overwhelming number of "storm chasers" and private individuals armed with digital cameras -- shooting literally thousands upon thousands of still pictures. Our buy out prices average from $25.00 per photo for large lots, up to $500.00 per picture for high quality pictures of popular content. Please note that our agreements are completely non-exclusive. Therefore, you are free to continue to sell any pictures purchased or used by us. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain by making money and achieving exposure on the world's largest and most extensive stock agency specializing in weather! At this time we are only seeking the following photograph and video subjects only! Pictures must be digital files (no negatives or prints) sharply focused and at least 18 meg. original (shot) size. Read instructions below before sending any file!    Ships in ocean storms, ice, fog, etc.    Avalanches    Northern lights    Ice breaking ships (in progress)    Rare atmospheric optical phenomenon, green flash    Ball lightning    Objects hit (damaged or destroyed) by lightning. (We will also buy the actual items hit by lightning.    Aviation-related weather, aircraft in storms, snowbound aircraft, hail damage, etc.    Dust devils    Major floods    Major disasters: hurricanes, earthquakes, tornadoes, etc., (not covered by our files)    Hail damage to aircraft    Noctilucent clouds    Ice bergs    Antarctica    Tornadoes - Graphic and close-up only! Low contrast or distant shot not needed.    Lightning - Graphic and close-up or scenic only! We do not need general lightning shots or distant lightning.    Rain Forests - cutting/burning    Snowflakes - colorized micro shots    Close-ups of tornado damage in progress, very unusual damage    Tidal waves or any large waves -- especially those with something in the shot for scale    Weather graphics and illustrations. If you are a graphic artist -- we need your art!    Cross sections of hail stones    Hailstones larger than baseballs    Any extremely unusual or bizarre weather images, including unusual storm damage    Ice storms    Blizzards in major cities, e.g., Chicago, New York, etc.    Weather reporters using fans to simulate high winds while reporting    People (model released) in extreme weather conditions    High quality scenic or unusual images of natural parks or major points of interests with weather themes We will consider other rare, scenic or unusual weather, natural disaster, or storm subjects. We will also consider collections of any weather subjects for complete buy outs. Including: historical photographs, transparencies, government collections, estate collections, storm video footage and film footage. All submissions must be pre-approved by our office or they will be automatically rejected! Please contact our office for additional information. Footage Submissions: All footage submissions must be pre-approved by our office or they will be automatically rejected! Please contact our office for additional information. General Terms and Information We do not accept any form of unsolicited email submissions or mailed samples without prior approval. Any unsolicited materials or submissions will be destroyed and not returned. The sender accepts all responsibility and liability for unsolicited materials. Disclaimer: Weatherstock® only seeks existing pictures and footage. We do not request, suggest, pay for or assign anyone to seek any footage or photographs, including those footage or photographs involving dangerous situations, including storm chasing. Anyone who desires to accomplish any photographs or footage listed here or elsewhere does so at their own risk. Furthermore, the photographer acknowledges there are numerous editorial and commercial sources who accept or openly seek the same or similar submissions for fun or profit. Storm chasing is very dangerous and should only be conducted by those individuals with the proper training and purpose. You expressly release Weatherstock® from any and all liability and responsibility for any loss, including death, injury or loss of property during any attempt to accomplish any photograph or footage listed herein.
